Sean Hoehn caps Morristown High hoops career with big effort in state tourney

Morristown High basketball coach Billy Connolly summed up the Colonials’ season after Tuesday’s state tournament opener against 15th-seeded Irvington:

“All good things come to an end at some point. Unfortunately, it was tonight for us,” Coach Connolly told Colonial Corner Sports.

Irvington left Morristown with a 72-61 victory. But the Colonials have plenty of reasons to hold their heads high.

Twenty reasons, in fact: Morristown was 20-3 and undefeated in its league. Senior Captain Sean Hoehn broke the 1,000-point mark this season, and he added 37 points–including five three-pointers and all 17 of Morristown’s first-quarter points–in his career finale.

All the best to the varsity’s eight seniors. And special thanks to Jake Goldberg, Skyler Frost and the rest of teacher Mike Butler’s crackerjack crew at Colonial Corner Sports for their colorful coverage of this thrill-packed season.
