‘Taste of Morristown’ postponed, as March roars in like a polar bear

With a winter storm warning promising a rough start to the week, the Morristown Rotary Club has postponed Monday’s Taste of Morristown until March 24, 2014.

The annual fundraising event, featuring cuisine from Greater Morristown, is scheduled for 6 pm at the Hanover Marriott. Tickets are $60.

As for the forecast…. the National Weather Service has issued its warning starting on Sunday afternoon, March 2, extending through Monday afternoon.  Four- to eight-inches of snow are possible over that period, with a “trace of ice,” followed by “near record cold” with temperatures of 5 below zero possible on Monday night.

Morristown residents can park free in municipal garages starting on Sunday, so snow plows have easier access to streets.

Guess that stuff about March “roaring in like a lion” should be modified for modern times.  It’s more like a polar bear.
