On a frosty Sunday afternoon, Ian Tomesch, principal organist at St. Mary’s Abbey at the Delbarton School, performed a recital featuring Bach, Rheinberger and Reger favorites, before an intimate audience in Morris Township.

Fr. Edward Seton Fittin accompanied Ian by chanting several verses of the Magnificat Secundi Toni, composed in 1664 by Matthias Weckmann.

Twenty-five year old Ian is a doctoral candidate in organ at Yale University, where he earned masters and master of musical arts degrees in 2013.

He also served as assistant to Yale University Organist Thomas Murray at Christ Church, in New Haven, Conn, and as music director for the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.

Ian is a Morristown resident.
