Police were called to Morristown High School on Wednesday morning to respond to a fight involving students in the cafeteria, said a spokesperson for the Morris School District.

“It’s under control,” and classes were resuming, Mary Donahoe said shortly after noon.

“No weapons were involved,” she added, though there were “a couple of minor injuries” to students involved in the altercation.

She did not immediately have details about how many students were involved, or what started the fracas.

Four police cars were outside when we arrived at noon. The halls were eerily empty. Students reported that they were told to stay inside their classrooms while police dealt with the matter.

Mary said the altercation occurred between 11 am and 11:15 am.

We’ll have more as it becomes available.
