Morris School District cancels classes for Feb. 13; snowfall predictions rise

With the National Weather Service upping its forecasts to 10- to 14 inches of snow from the Nor’easter chugging our way, the Morris School District has canceled classes for Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.

Kindergarten registration for students whose last name begins with letters F-L, originally scheduled for Feb. 13, is postponed to Thursday, March 13.

The District has decided to shorten next week’s winter break, canceling a vacation day that had been set for Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The snow now is expected to start around 4 a.m. on Thursday, and continue into the evening.

Morristown residents are urged to park their vehicles for free  in Morristown Parking Authority parking garages or the garage at Headquarters Plaza so that streets may be plowed more swiftly.
