What better way to remember Pete Seeger than with his music?

On Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014,  a service at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown will incorporate songs from the late folksinger, who died Monday at age 94.

It’s scheduled for 5:30 pm, in the Friendly Guild room.

“We just wanted to memorialize his music and some of the highlights of his life and his messages that can very much relate to Christianity,” said Alan Chorun of St. Peter’s.

Songs will included Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Turn Turn Turn and other songs suggested by attendees, he said.

Peter Seeger “had a lot of great things to say and so many more great things that he did and we’ll just sing his music and remember his actions and put that in the frame of a liturgy,” said Alan.

“And let’s not forget Goodnight Irene,” he said. “Somehow I’ll make that fit.”

The church is at South Street and Miller Road.  Alan invited anyone who wants to participate or suggest songs to call him at 973-220-2698.
