Free garage parking for Morristown residents during the storm

Morristown residents know the drill:  Big snow, free indoor parking.

Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office on Tuesday announced that the Morristown Parking Authority will open its garages for free to residents from 9 am on Jan. 21, 2014, through 6 pm on Jan. 22, so streets are clear for snow plows.

The facilities are:

  • Dalton Garage (Cattano Avenue)
  • Ann/Bank streets garage
  • DeHart garage
  • Vail Mansion parking deck (access from South Street)

Your driver’s license will serve as proof of residency, to get garage parking fees waived.

The National Weather Service now predicts 6-10 inches of snow–heaviest Tuesday afternoon into the evening–followed by subzero wind chills.  The Morris School District will be closing early this afternoon (all extracurricular activities are canceled) and NJ Transit is cross-honoring rail-, light-rail- and bus tickets.
