Morris School District declares half-day for storm on Jan. 21; parklet demo a go

The Morris School District will close early on Jan. 21, 2014, in anticipation of the predicted snowstorm.

All after-school activities, including the Sunset program, are canceled, and the open house for realtors is postponed until Thursday, Jan. 23, according to the district website.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, effective from 10 am on Tuesday to 6 am on Jan. 22.  Five to nine inches of snow are possible, with bitter cold and gusty winds.

NJ Transit will cross-honor tickets for trains, light rail and buses.

Morristown’s parklet demonstration will go forward as planned, said Morristown Sustainability Coordinator Paul Miller.  The parklet will be indoors,  at 18 North Park Place between noon and 7 pm.
