If you’re a high school senior setting your sights on art school, Morris Arts may have a scholarship for you. But you have to apply by Jan. 17, 2014.
Every year the organization awards a $5,000 Elaine Ehlers Arts Scholarship and a $1,500 Eugenie Coladarci Arts Scholarship to high school graduates from Morris County. Here are more details, from Morris Arts:
Morris Arts is pleased to offer two scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors who have exhibited artistic excellence in dance, drama, music, or visual arts and plan to pursue post-secondary studies at an accredited institution or acknowledged arts school or fine arts program. The Elaine Ehlers Arts Scholarship – $5,000, and The Eugenie Coladarci Arts Scholarship – $1,500.
Morris County high school seniors graduating in June 2014 who are currently attending public, private, or parochial school in New Jersey are eligible. Applicants must:
(a) be Morris County residents,
(b) plan to pursue post-secondary studies at an accredited institution or acknowledged arts school or fine arts program, and;
(c) have demonstrated artistic excellence in any one of four arts disciplines: dance, drama, music, or visual arts.

Applications must be postmarked or delivered to the Morris Arts office no later than 5 PM on Friday, January 17, 2014.
Applicants will be judged by a committee consisting of professional panelists representing each artistic discipline. Selection will be based on artistic excellence as demonstrated by the quality of the work samples and on the basis of application materials submitted to the panel. Winners will be notified on or after February 25, 2014 and honored at Morris Arts’ annual Celebrate the Arts event on March 27, 2014.
