The Morris School District and Morris Plains borough schools have canceled classes for Friday, Jan. 3, 2013, and Gov. Christie has told non-essential state workers to stay home, too, in anticipation of the snowstorm and bitter cold.
Snow began falling in Morristown around 6 pm, and News 12 now predicts six- to nine inches may accumulate by Friday.
Gusty winds are expected to make travel hazardous, and by Friday night temperatures may plunge into single-digits.

Morristown residents can park free in Morristown Parking Authority garages through Saturday afternoon, and the town hall seniors center will be open as a warming station during business hours on Friday.
