Christmas Eve and Christmas worship services in Greater Morristown for 2013

Here is a listing of worship services around Greater Morristown for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2013.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will have candlelight services on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, starting with a Festive Prelude with Choir and Carols at 4:30 pm followed by the Eucharist of the Nativity at 5 pm. The adult, girls and boys choirs will sing. The same routine will repeat with a Festive Prelude at 10 pm followed by a service at 10:30 pm.  The choirs will sing works by Malcolm, Mathias and Rutter. There are a variety of ways to celebrate the holidays with The Presbyterian Church in Morristown. Christmas Eve Candlelight Services  begin at 4 pm (family service), 7 pm, and 11 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 24. Organ and Bell preludes begin half an hour before each service, with the Ringing in of Christmas at midnight. Morristown United Methodist Church celebrates Christmas Eve with two services on Tuesday, Dec. 24. Family service begins at 5 pm, followed by a Scripture and Candlelight service at 7:30 pm. At 50 S. Park Place, Morristown; please call 973-539-2132 for more information.

Church of the Assumption begins Christmas Eve with three Vigil Masses at 5:30, 7:30 and 10 pm. Bring the kids over at 3 pm for Christmas Eve story time followed by a Children’s Mass at 4 pm. Morristown’s Episcopal Church of the Redeemer  will hold a Christmas Eve service at 8 pm, and a 9 am service on Christmas Day, at 36 South St. Call 973-539-0703 for more information.

St. Margaret’s Queen of Scotland Roman Catholic Church will have Masses on Christmas Eve at 8 am, 5 pm and 8 pm. Christmas Day Masses are scheduled for 7:30 am, 10 am and noon. The church is at 6 Sussex Ave. in Morristown. Call 973-538-0874 for more.
