With the National Weather Service calling for another two- to four inches of snow on Saturday, followed by sleet and a little more snow on Sunday, Morristown residents will want to give snowplows plenty of room to do their thing.
And so the Morristown Parking Authority once more will open its garages to residents at no charge.
Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office announced on Friday that the free parking will run from noon on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, through Monday, Dec. 16, at 8 am. Show your driver’s license to the attendant as proof of residency to waive fees.
That’s odd. Are you a Morristown resident? The gates were open and there was no attendant when I retrieved my car around 10:30 am on Sunday.
I entered the Morristown Garage on 12/14 around 3 PM for the storm. The attended confirmed that there was free parking during the storm and also noted that on Sunday there is no charge regardless of the storm. When I exited the parking garage 12/15 around 10 AM I was charged $25. This is not right to advertise free parking and then charge. I am very disappointed in the town and do not feel that it is fair to mislead residents.
