The New Jersey Restaurant Association has crowned its new Restaurateur of the Year–Morristown’s Sneh Mehtani.

She received the award on Monday at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, where she was accompanied by her husband and business partner, Satish Mehtani, and their son Shaun Mehtani, who is assuming leadership of the family empire.

Sneh started Mehndi, Ming II and SM23 at Headquarters Plaza, in addition to MoghulMing and the Mirage in Edison.

Nicknamed “The Tigress” for her tenacity over three decades in business, the Indian immigrant has chalked up her success to a Hindi saying:

“The guest is God. The guest has come, so God has come.”
