Morristown’s Got Talent! appears to have rolled a lucky seven for its seventh season, landing Tara Bernie of NBC’s Access Hollywood as host of the Feb. 26, 2014, contest at the Mayo Performing Arts Center.
As a senior producer of Access Hollywood and Access Hollywood LIVE, the Morristown resident is at home interviewing celebrities. She has covered the Academy Awards, Grammys, Emmys, Golden Globes and major film festivals, among other assignments, and she is scheduled to broadcast live from the Winter Olympics in Russia.
A graduate of William Paterson University, Tara got her show biz start as an intern for the Howard Stern radio show. She also interned for Dan Rather at CBS News, and was a production assistant for Matt Lauer. She’s been a New Jersey Nets dancer and a Miss USA pageant judge, too.
“We are thrilled to partner with one of our very own community members who can bring tons of talent, experience, and perspective to this year’s show “ Kim Pistner, chairperson of the Morristown’s Got Talent Committee, said in a statement.
“Organizers of the show have decided to build off Tara’s talents and take the whole show in an exciting direction… Morristown’s Got Talent: Hollywood Edition!”
Auditions for the show are scheduled for Dec. 14, 2013, at Morristown High School. The deadline to register is Dec. 4; the fee is $10.
The competition, which offers a top prize of $1,000, is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Greater Morristown, and to alumni of Morristown High School.
