Reminder: ‘Small Business Saturday’ is Nov. 30 in Morristown, Santa arrives Dec. 1

Just a quick reminder about two big events in Morristown this weekend:

Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, is “Small Business Saturday,”  with a special one-day offer for anyone who “shops local.”

The annual Elf Ride will welcome Santa to Morristown.

The Morristown Partnership’s annual Gift Greenbacks gift certificate program will be boosted:

For every $50 of gift certificates that shoppers buy, they will receive an extra $20 in gift certificates, instead of the usual $10 holiday bonus, according to Jennifer Wehring, marketing director for the Partnership.

More than 200 Morristown businesses honor these certificates, which are valid for one year, Jennifer said. But hurry–supplies are limited.

The sale runs from 10 am to 2 pm (while supplies last) at the Partnership office, at 14 Maple Ave. on the second floor.

And on Sunday, Dec. 1, Santa Claus lands atop Century 21 at 5 pm and makes his way to the Morristown Green, where he will hold forth for the next three weekends at the Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green.

This year also marks the centennial of the first tree lighting on the Green. To celebrate the occasion, the Partnership is inviting everyone to gather for some caroling, just like a century ago.
