Morristown piano concert raises money for Lithuanian education

Pianist Frances Covalesky drew an enthusiastic crowd to Morristown’s Assumption Church earlier this month for a concert to benefit the Lithuanian Educational Assistance & Relief Foundation Inc.

The program included selections of Chopin and Brahms and a tango, too, and raised scholarship money for a Lithuanian student, organizers said.

If anyone still wants to donate, checks can be made payable to LEARF and sent to Susan Savaiko, LACNNJ Vice-President, c/o 79 Center Grove Road, Randolph, NJ 07869.

Fran, who is a vocal music specialist for the Dover school system, also is on the faculty at the College of Saint Elizabeth, where she gave another recital a few days after the Assumption concert.
