Sunday’s Colonial Challenge 5K in Morris Township raised more than $15K for local school programs, Debbie Sontupe, president of the Morris Educational Foundation, said on Wednesday.
Some 470 people participated this year at Ginty Field, she said.
Henley Hage, 33, of South Orange topped the men’s division with a time of 18:16, a pace of 5:54 per mile. Stephen Connell, 48, of Morristown, was second at 18:31 and Dermot Grennan, also of Morristown , age 12 (that’s what the result sheet says), placed third at 18:55.
Lynn Gutkin, 38, of Morristown, led the women with a 20:55 time, a pace of 6:45. Joscelin Grizzetti, 44, of Morristown, finished second at 21:51 and Cassandra Brown, 40, of Long Valley was next at 22:18.

Now the MEF is gearing up for its other big fundraiser, Morristown’s Got Talent! Auditions are scheduled for Dec. 14, 2013, at Morristown High School. Register online by Dec. 4. This year’s competition is set for Feb. 26, 2014.
