While the Yanks were getting thumped in Beantown on Saturday, Boston ace Johnny A. was throwing a perfect game in Morristown.
The guitar wizard closed the Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival with a tuneful set blending blues and rock with his whip-smart three-piece band. They re-invented songs by the Beatles, Stones and Jimi Hendrix, among other musical treats.
Not a single note was wasted. Johnny A. plays only plays the ones he needs, and they sound good.
Clearly, there is a reason Gibson named a guitar after this guy.
Check out Johnny’s jaunty cover of an obscure foreign group from the ’60s…Enjoy!
