The Morristown Green usually is a pretty safe place.

But when you unleash a blogger with two left feet into a swirling sea of tangonistas, well, better say ¡chao!

(Next time, we strap on the Tango Cam. Talk about scary foot-age.)

Argentine Tango Dancers, led by Daniel Herrera of Dreams Dance Studio in Randolph, put lunchtime spectators through their paces Tuesday at Music Beyond Borders, the summer series presented by Morris Arts and the Mayo Performing Arts Center.

Tango dancers Elsie Tai, Steve Curlen, Jean Cheng and Mario Delgado showed how it’s done…and then the assembled masses pretty much did it their own way.

One can only wonder about the audience participation portion of the series finale on Aug. 6, 2013, when the Didge Project introduces exotic sounds of the aboriginal didgeridoo from Australia.

Good luck to dancers Elsie and Steve, who are competing on July 26 in the USA Tango Championship in New York.

And our thanks to MG photographers Bill Lescohier and Scott Schlosser for their photos, below. Wisely, they shot at a safe distance from the aforementioned character with the left-handed feet.
