A sunny Fourth on the Morristown Green

Whoa, stop the press.  Wait, nobody says that anymore.

Reboot!

It actually stopped raining long enough for a Fourth of July celebration on the Morristown Green. Don’t know how Leslie Bensley of the Morris County Tourism Bureau arranged that, but we’re glad she did!

Park Ranger Tom Winslow delivered another 5-star reading of the Declaration of Independence (he must be good; he’s been invited back 23 times), 12-year-old Audra Stowers and the Morris Music Men held up the musical part of the bargain, and there was even a cake, from Swiss Chalet, to commemorate the 80th birthday of the Morristown National Historical Park down the road apiece.

Here are some photos; lots more coverage to follow.  But first, it’s ime to grab a hot dog, and some fireworks at Sunrise Lake. (The program starts at 7 pm, July 4, 2013). See you there?
