Morristown High School opened a lot of eyes last year by skating to the state hockey finals at the Prudential Center in Newark.

At 3 pm today, March 9, 2013, the Colonials return to The Rock to complete their mission. This time, they will battle the 2011 state champ, Chatham, for bragging rights as No. 1.

“We’re more ready to be here than the last time. We’re all business on the ice,” Morristown Coach Bobby Jones tells The Star-Ledger.

The Colonials dropped powerhouse Kinnelon 2-1 in sudden-death overtime on Wednesday to earn a return trip to the finals, this time in the Public B category.

Junior Jack Szary scored the game-winner in that one, assisted by his brother Cam Szary and Brian Begley.  Sophomore goalie Shane Brown was big for the Colonials once more.  They all know what it takes to win, after coming close against Randolph in last year’s championship game.

Morristown (17-6-3) has beaten Chatham twice this season, 5-0 and 2-1.  The Cougars (15-8-3) beat top-ranked Ramsey, 3-0, to earn their shot at the title.

Good luck, Colonials!
