Here are more scenes from Monday’s historic Delbarton/Morristown High School hockey game, the first meeting of these two teams in many years.

The state-champion Green Wave skated to a 4-1 victory against a strong Colonials varsity.

Things might have gotten interesting if referees had allowed Morristown’s first goal. Instead, they ruled the puck had been kicked into the net, so it didn’t count. That score would have cut Delbarton’s lead in half with lots of time remaining.

Here is our video from the game.  And here is a story by the Daily Record.

Morristown starts its drive for the Mennen Cup against Chatham at 8:15 pm on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.  That’s Valentine’s Day–but don’t expect a love match.  Chatham will be out to avenge 5-0 and 2-1 losses to MHS this season.

Our thanks to MG photographer Bill Lescohier for capturing the action. Please click the icon below for captions.
