About the Black History Month Celebration

In 2002, Neighborhood House helped convene representatives from throughout the community to work together to help ensure cross-cultural harmony. Through a series of meetings, there was a consistent desire to help cultures learn about one another. Coordinating a community celebration of Black History Month was one action that resulted from the meetings. In addition to the Black History Month celebration, working with individuals and organizations throughout the community, Neighborhood House co-host events for Women’s History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and an outdoor festival in August called Community Family Day.
