As President Obama prepares to unveil a package of gun-control proposals in the wake of last month’s massacre of schoolchildren in Newtown, CT., Morristown residents are organizing a local response to the tragedy.
The new Morristown Committee Against Gun Violence will meet on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10 am, in the Morristown & Township Library at One Miller Road.
It’s being co-hosted by Councilwoman Rebecca Feldman and Pam Hasegawa.
“As New Jersey will be instrumental in passing any legislation in the House, we need our voices heard; to do that, we have to mobilize and speak out together,” they said in a statement.
Space is limited; the organizers are asking anyone interested in attending to RSVP to 973-292-2440 or https://tinyurl.com/d5hhhmo by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
