Man killed by train on elevated tracks in Morris Plains
Authorities are investigating the death of a man who apparently climbed onto an elevated portion of track in Morris Plains, where he was struck by an NJ Transit train on Monday.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was struck at 11:12 am by an westbound commuter train just east of the Morris Plains train station.
About 60 passengers and crew members were aboard; none were injured, according to an NJ Transit spokesperson. Train service was delayed for up to 45 minutes in both directions
