“There is no culture in the world that spends less on food and more on healthcare than the United States. . .. It is a painfully obvious truth.  You can pay the doctor or you can pay the farmer,” proclaims the trailer for the documentary Ingredients.

Learn about the “Eat Local” movement at a free screening of the movie, on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Unity Charter School in Morris Township.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at 1 Evergreen Place.

It’s being hosted by Sustainable Morristown and Community Earth.

According to the filmmakers, “we have literally lost sight of where our food comes from and in the process we’ve lost a vital connection to our local community and to our health.  Ingredients illustrates how people around the country are working to revitalize that connection.”

A discussion about how to support New Jersey farms will follow the film.
