Online survey: Should same-sex marriage be decided by New Jersey voters?

Gov. Christie wants to put the question of same-sex marriage on the November ballot.  Newark Mayor Cory Booker contends civil rights should not be subject to fickle politics.

Who is right?

Let’s vote on it!

Our friends at Baristnet in Montclair have posted a survey where you can weigh in.

Gov. Chris Christie, left, announcing his nomination of Chatham Mayor Bruce Harris to the state Supreme Court. Mayor Harris would be the state's first openly gay justice. The Governor has proposed letting voters decide the question of same-sex marriage in November. Newark Mayor Cory Booker, right, contends civil rights should not be subject to fickle politics. Newark Mayor Cory Booker has my vote. Gov. Christie is allowing his religious beliefs to dictate his stand on a civil rights issue. I think he should refrain from exercising his right to veto since he clearly is unable to separate his religious beliefs from making a decision that is in the best interest of a segment of the population that the Catholic Church would rather not recognize.
