Authorities ask public for clues in Morristown shootings

Authorities are asking the public for help solving the Oct. 8 shooting of two men in Morristown.  As previously reported here, the men were shot on Abbett Avenue. They were not critically wounded.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi is asking anyone with information to call the Morristown Bureau of Police at 973-538-2200, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office 973-285-2900 or the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Stopper program at 973 COP CALL.

At approximately 12:40 a.m. The Morris County Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting a shooting on Abbett Avenue in Morristown.

Upon the arrival of the Morristown Police Department, they identified two individuals who had been shot.

Victim #1, a male resident of Morristown, age 26, was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Victim #2, a male resident of Morristown age 28, was treated and released from Morristown Memorial Hospital.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Morristown Bureau of Police, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section.
