Morristown council candidate Ed France said he paid about $200 in sewer fees today, avoiding a tax sale on a his James Street property.
A legal notice in the Daily Record listed his property among others that would go on the block next month if the fees weren’t paid.
“I just got the bill yesterday. It came in the mail yesterday,” said Ed, running in the GOP primary in the Fourth Ward, where Republican Alison Deeb seeks re-election.
He said he pays his taxes automatically through his mortgage and had been unaware of any problem with the sewer fees.
The matter came up after Monday’s candidates night.
