Morristown agency to help distribute shoes to 75 homeless kids

Seventy-five needy youths are getting new shoes this holiday season, courtesy of Payless Gives and the Interfaith Council for Homeless Families of Morris County.

“We’re thrilled to be able to provide the children we serve with warm winter shoes just in time for the holiday season,” said Joann Bjornson, executive director of the council, in a statement.

The Morristown-based council partners with churches and other agencies to provide shelter for the homeless. Earlier this month it helped organize Project Homeless Connect, a services expo for the homeless, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown.

Interfaith will distribute coupons that can be redeemed for shoes.
