At Saturday’s rally, Our Youth, Their Future, several speakers urged minority teens in Morristown to resist peer pressure and the temptations of street culture.

One of the most powerful talks was delivered by Yasin Cobb, youth minister at the Calvary Baptist Church.

In vivid detail, he described the inside of a prison cell, and how he might have been spared such knowledge had he heeded advice from his elders as a youth.  He was lucky to survive gunshot wounds when he was 17, he said.

This video is an excerpt of his speech. He examines some of the causes of delinquency, and suggests some solutions. The clip runs about nine minutes.
