Three mayors and a former mayor teamed up on Tuesday to congratulate the Alumni Association of Morristown High School on its 125th anniversary. The association first met in 1885 on Maple Avenue, where the high school once stood.
Today, the school sits at the corner of Early and Atno streets and serves students from Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains. Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty issued a proclamation at Tuesday’s Morristown council meeting with Morris Township Mayor H. Scott Rosenbush, Morris Plains Mayor Frank Druetzler and former Morristown Mayor Jay DeLaney, MHS Class of 1972.
On the receiving end were association President Ed Myers (Class of ’85), former association president David Perry (’52) and Thomas Ficarra, superintendent of the Morris School District.
Hello:
Just the other evening, Linda Langhammer crossed my mind. I don’t know why because the last time I saw her was in the at a class reunion in the 1980’s. Nevertheless, I thought I’d look her up just and stop by to say hello only to find she had passed away. I was so surprised because she was one of the nicest people in our class. Along with Helen Pisciotto and Richard Steacker, just to name a few. Anyway, I wanted to post my comments on the lovely person she was to me. And even though 1968 is only a memory because it’s been so long ago, I still want to say, I remember Linda Langhammer and the sweet person She was.
Rest well, Linda.
Warm and fond memories,
Rebecca Nelson
This year we lost a dear friend, Linda Langhammer, class of 68.
She is buried in the EVERGREEN Cemetary. we would like to make a contribution to
An ongoing school or church program.
Could you, perhaps, offer us some suggestions,
Linda was a cheerleader, prom queen, linquist and much more.
